Living With…Episode 002 Rick Ochoa, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Survivor

Laughing With Cancer Podcast

Welcome to the show everyone. I hope you are well!

My guest today is one of those people who is larger than life.
I’m so happy to have him on the show.
He’s the host of Laughing With Cancer Podcast.
He’s a father, grandfather, an Elvis impersonator & a cancer survivor.
He was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) on Valentines Day 2003.
He worked in nuclear power plants & in mines where he was exposed to radiation & benzene, but his doctors told him these things were not the cause of his cancer.
Like many, he suffered through the 5 stages of grief.
He’s had his good days & bad days and at one time even contemplated suicide.
Interestingly, he credits a podcast with saving his life.
He was fighting obesity and diabetes and decided to make changes in his lifestyle, and his diet, he quit smoking and started exercising.

His cancer journey has lead him to a healthier lifestyle, enjoying life with a positive outlook and most of all laughing his way to good health.
